Division 3
On Saturday last, we played Athlone in Castletown. From the throw-in we kept ourselves in
front with Morgan Gavigan opening the scoring in the first minute of the game. Scores were
slow coming from both sides for the majority of the first half, however, David Lynch
managed to find the net 10 minutes in, leaving us comfortably in front going forward. At
half time it was 1-7 to 4 points in favour of us and keeping this lead was crucial for 2 points
on the league table. Jack Gallagher and Eamon Og Clarke took to the field for the second
half replacing Stephen Clarke and Conor Lynch. We started the second half strong, however
Athlone came back into the game until Dean McDermott put four over in a row, allowing us
some breathing space on the score line. The game finished 1-16 for Malachys and 1-10 for
Athlone giving us two points for the league table!
