All Ireland Scór na nÓg Final 2019

The week has come at last for our young Set Dancers who will represent the club, county and province in next weekend’s All Ireland Scór na nÓg finals in Castlebar. The Posters and flags will be up for the girls who have performed very well not just this year but over a number of years for St Josephs. The opposition will come from Abbeyknockmoy (Galway), Spa (Kerry) and Glenuillin (Derry) so St Josephs will be competing with the best on the day for the All Ireland Crown. Best wishes to Ciara Daly, Sarah Conlon, Joyce Conway, Kayla Mc Donnell, Katie Kelly, Zara Montgomery, Caoilinn Elliffe, Sarah Mc Cormack and the team trainer Thomas Pettit next Saturday. The competition gets underway at 3-00pm in the TF Royal Theatre and by around 6-30pm we should know the destination of the All Ireland Title. Hopefully, it will be coming our direction. We also wish neighbours Ballinagore the very best of luck in the Scór Table Quiz All Ireland which is on earlier on Saturday morning and we hope that they too will be successful on the day.

Senior Challenge V CFCW

The Senior Men’s team had their first game of the season with a useful challenge game against Castletown Finea Coole Whitehall in Streamstown on Sunday morning.  It was the first opportunity for the new management team of Aidan Lennon, Stephen Sheil and Neil Keegan to have a look at the shape of the team. As things happened, we won by 4-10 to 2-9 in a typical early season game where there were plenty of cobwebs, but also considerable promise shown. Our thanks to CFCW for the game and to Referee Seamus Mc Cormack who took charge of proceedings.

Lotto - €10,000 Jackpot

Our most recent draw took place on Sunday night in Ryan’s of Horseleap. We had no winner of the Jackpot which still stands at €10,000. We also have a rollover jackpot running and its now at €1,000.

The numbers drawn were 5, 7, 16, and 23. We had 3 match 3 winners – Billy & Ann Fitzgerald, LLEC c/o Eileen McCormack and Padraig Seery. Well Done to all!

St Joseph’s Ladies

St Joseph’s Ladies Club had their registration evening on Saturday the 9th of February in the Streamstown/Horseleap Community Centre. The registration was open to all age groups and indeed that is what turned up. A great evening was had by all and the future of the ladies club in very bright undoubtedly.
