Happy New Year
A very happy hurling New Year to all our players, parents, mentors, members and friends. After a great 2018, this year is primed to be one of the best ever for the club with Féile fast approaching, our U16s set to launch a serious challenge and strong panels at all levels from Academy to the Adult team. Not forgetting of course, the Tuesday night troops involved in Rise Up and Hurl games in the Regional Sports Centre keeping the flame alive! Club activity will begin to stir again in the coming weeks so keep an eye on our communication outlets both offline and online!
Christmas Catching Competition
Thanks to all who took part in the Christmas Catching Competition. Some serious pucking took place in the weeks running up to the festive season and it was great to capture these on video. Mentors at each level are currently going through the entries and the winners will be announced presently. Thanks also to the cameramen/women/friends that recorded our hurlers showing their silken skills!
From Couch to Camán
No doubt like so many others you may have over-indulged over the Christmas and are in need of some exercise to address the new bulges in places where they weren’t before. Why not dig out the camán from behind the couch and join us for a fun way to get fit! All levels of the club would welcome new or lapsed members regardless of skill or fitness abilities. Not only is hurling a fantastic sport – as recognised by UNESCO recently – it’s part of our culture and Southern Gaels is part of sporting culture in this part of Westmeath so why not join our great and growing club and get pucking! New Manager for the New Year
Looking for a new challenge for 2019? Why not give management a go. Our adult team are looking for a new manager after John Benton finished up his two-year stint in charge leaving the senior squad in great stead with over twenty on the panel already signed up for the new season. If you would like to build on the successes of recent times and feel you can contribute, we’d love to hear from you via Facebook or our website listed above.Tweet
