The Aussies are coming ...
On Thursday next, 3 January, a bit of history will be created in Springfield when Mullingar Shamrocks play host to the visiting Australian Wanderers touring girls Aussie Rules football team with ages ranging from 14 to 18.
A Mullingar Shamrocks team of the same age group will provide the opposition in a match in which both sets of rules and ball shapes will be used at different stages. The throw in is at 2.30 and all are welcome. After the match the legendary Mullingar Shamrocks hospitality will be unveiled once again, some presentation of under-age medals will take place and our visitors will be presented with souvenirs of the occasion. The club would like to thank the families who will play host to the girls on their visit to Mullingar.
Dinner Dance News
The Mullingar Shamrocks GAA Club dinner dance will take place on 2 February 2019 in the Greville Arms Hotel starting at 7.00 pm sharp to allow plenty of time for the meal presentation and dancing later in the night. The music will be supplied by The Afters and when they are finished DJ Mugs will take to the stage.
All members, families and friends of Mullingar Shamrocks are welcome and tickets at €40 each are now available from members of the executive and can also be purchased at www.mullingarshamrocksgaa.com or via the Mullingar Shamrocks ClubifyApp.
Condolences ...
The members of Mullingar Shamrocks offer their sincerest sympathy to the family of the late Paschal Rock and to the family of the late Pamela Clinton. Paschal's son Colin Rock is one of Mullingar Shamrocks dedicated under age coaches and coaches the club's under-6 footballers. Pamela Clinton's son Adam is a member of the Mullingar Shamrocks Under-8 squad. May they rest in peace.
