Mullingar Shamrocks Club Notes

Kilmacud Crokes Under-12 LGF Hosted ...

Mullingar Shamrocks is a club of many layers and while our senior footballers were playing Moorefield in the Leinster Club Championship our Under-12 Girls hosted their counterparts from Dublin's Kilmacud Crokes Club in Springfield.

This was our under-12 girls final match of the season and  Kilmacud Crokes were undertaking a mini-tour of the Midlands over the bank holiday weekend. That's how the other half lives their football life and why Dublin is going to become more dominant over time.

The difference in stature between the two teams was noteworthy, but what the Shamrocks girls lacked in height they more than made up for with speed and tenacity.

The match was played with great spirit and enthusiasm on both sides. After the match the Crokes Kilmacud captain presented Mullingar Shamrocks with a match ball autographed by all the Dublin girls as a souvenir of the day. A lovely gesture.

After the football, both teams, mentors and a large group of parents moved upstairs to enjoy the now legendary Shamrocks hospitality.

A big thank you to all the parents who once again did the club proud with all of the donations and those who helped after the match making sure everyone had been fed and watered. These events don't just happen without planning and cooperation. We appreciate all of your time and efforts.

As this was our last outing this year the coaches want to thank all the parents and guardians for their support throughout the season and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Mullingar Shamrocks were represented by Eirin Murray; Sarah Ford; Emily Pearce; Ella Briody; Grace Daly; Megan Scally; Aine Creagh; Brona Moran; Nicole Isis; Jagoda Bartosiewicz; Jasmine McFarlane Ginnell; Grace Hanley; Sophie Russell; Marie McKeogh; Shauna Russell; Zara Corroon and Abigail Molloy

The late Enda Creamer

Mullingar Shamrocks extends sincere sympathy to the relatives and friends of Enda Creamer, Lynn Road, Mullingar, and in particular to his  mother Evelyn, sister Claire and his brother-in-law Tom Keane. Tom Keane is one of our Under-8 coaches and his sons Carl and Oliver, who are nephews of Enda, play at Under-8 for Mullingar Shamrocks.

Congratulations to Micheál and Sineád Curley on the birth of Dáire ... a Mullingar Shamrocks centre-back of the  future no doubt!
