Yet another game that we were completely in control of was very nearly let slip at the death and we will have to take a serious look at closing out games where we are putting in good performances for 50 minutes and then taking our foot off the gas for whatever reason. The Tang pitch was in great shape on a perfect evening for football and we looked dangerous going forward in the first half with Billy Berry and Conor Sheridan in particular looking sharp and getting good service from out the field. A heavy shower before half time made conditions more difficult and we turned 0-6 to 0-4 at half time against this years All Ireland Junior runners up and continued where we left off in the second half stretching our lead out to 7 points with 10 mins left after Rob Forde had goaled following good work from Billy Berry. We then allowed Multy to run through unchallenged for a goal with another one quickly following which was hard to take as Alex Ryan had nothing to do all evening up to this. We were certainly on the ropes at the death but full credit to the lads for seeing it out and getting a well deserved 2 points. Good performances all round really but special mention to Dylan Ennis, Paul Gorman, Conor Sheridan and the outstanding Billy Berry. Good turnouts at training recently are starting to bear fruit and with a good few due back for the next game hopefully the lads can push on from here now.
