St Malachys GAA club notes

IFC

On Sunday last, we played our second round of the IFC against Caulry. Unfortunately, we didn't leave the pitch with the 2 points we wanted for the championship table. It was a draw game at 62 minutes on the board when Caulry found the blackspot and put the ball over the bar, leaving them a point ahead with seconds left to play. We fought hard to come back from being 7 points down at one stage, and the dedication of the players really showed in coming back into the game. Final score: Malachys 2-06 Caulry 1-10. Team: D.Sheehan, J.Gallagher, L.Varley, E.Quinn, D.McDermott, S.Clavin(0-01) , J.Clarke, A.Clarke(0-01), J.Bermingham, C.O'Brien, D.Ruane (0-02), N.O'Brien (1-0), N.Kirby, A.Mangan (1-02), R.Whelan. Subs E.OgClarke, E.Mullarkey, S.Clarke, L.Cassidy, D.Clarke, C.Lynch, P.O'Suillivan, P.Kane, D.Kiernan, R.Burge, A.Gavigan, N.Mckenna (inj.)

Lotto

The winning numbers this week were: 1,3,8,23. There was no winner. Five people had 3 numbers. Marcella Dunne, Pat Clarke, Mandy Jackson, Margaret Hackett and Bernie Corcoran. Promotor prize went to Dermot Garvin. Next week's draw is €9600 in Drakes.

Underage - Lilliput Gaels

The under 14's played Kilbeggan on Thursday night last, coming back from being 7 points down at half time to win 2-06 to 2-10. Well done to all involved.

Unfortunately, our under 12 side were not as lucky against Miltownpass, despite a great comeback in the second half.

Tesco Community Fund

For the next number of weeks, St. Malachys are one of the three community groups collecting the blue tokens in Tesco Mullingar. The number of tokens we receive will determine the final distribution of funds to the club. We would appreciate if everyone from the community could please try and support us and tell your friends!
