Minors Div 3 v Inny Gaels

Moate 5-7

Inny Gaels 1-7

On Wednesday evening last our Minor team travelled to Ballynacargy to play in the 3rd round of the league. This again was a rearranged fixture from last month.

The home team started the stronger scoring 1-01 in the first two minutes of the game. Straight away we were on the back foot and credit to our lads they got into the game and within ten minutes we were a point up thanks to two well taken goals. The first half continued with both teams working hard to capitalize on their possession and at half time we lead on a score line of 3-03 to 1-04.

The second half continued as the first finished, with both teams playing some magnificent end to end football despite the falling darkness. Inny Gaels attacked our goal line on numerous occasions during the half but some astute defensive work, by our backs, kept them out and helped build attacks for our forwards to convert into scores. When the final whistle blew we had done enough to win the game on a score line of 5-07 to 1-07.
