Nire are county minor football champions

Nire continued their dominance of football fare in the county with a 2-9 to 0-12 victory over Roanmore in the 2008 Waterford MFC decider.
The boys from the Valley made history last year when capturing the county minor 'A' crown for the very first time; to complete back-to-back successes is quite an incredible feat.
The future of football in Nire is in safe hands for sure. Keith Guiry and David Fitzgerald got the crucial goals in the final.
Mount Sion came with a late surge to surpass Rathgormack in the minor 'B' FC final, 2-10 to 1-12.
