McGrath named at full back for Deise

July 04, 2008
New Waterford manager Davy Fitzgerald has turned to Ken McGrath to solve the troublesome full back position by handing him the number three jersey for Saturday's All-Ireland hurling qualifier against Antrim. Fitzgerald has performed radical surgery to the side, with the midfield the only unchanged line from the team that lost to Clare in the Munster SHC. McGrath, who missed that game after undergoing minor knee surgery, takes over from Kevin Moran, while a fit-again Eoin Murphy is also recalled to the full back line at the expense of Aidan Kearney. Tony Browne switches from wing back to the centre with Shane O'Sullivan coming in on the right wing for Brian Phelan. Up front, Eoin Kelly also returns from injury, replacing the injured Seamus Prendergast, while Dan Shanahan switches from centre forward to full forward, with dual star Gary Hurney moving in the opposite direction. Waterford (SH v Antrim): C Hennessy; E Murphy, K McGrath, D Prendergast; S O'Sullivan, T Browne, J Kennedy; M Walsh, D Bennett; E Kelly, G Hurney, S Molumphy; E McGrath, D Shanahan, J Mullane.
