NFL: Decies delight

April 06, 2008
Waterford continued their impressive Division Four form with a stunning 1-15 to 0-11 victory over Carlow at Dr Cullen Park. The Decies had the upper hand early on. They raced into a 0-6 to 0-1 lead and held a 0-9 to 0-5 advantage at the break. Carlow's hopes were decimated once midfielder Patrick Walsh received a straight red card shortly after the resumption. Eddie Rockett wanted a pizza the action and he chipped in with the goal that confirmed the result on 56 minutes. Mathematically, Waterford are still in the promotion hunt, albeit with tough tests against Tipp and Antrim to come.
