Playoff for Cork and Waterford

March 25, 2008
The Central Competitions Control Committee has ruled that Cork and Waterford must play off to decide the pairings of the NHL Division 1 quarter-finals. Both side finished on six points in Division 1A of the Allianz League and could not be separated on scoring difference as Cork forfeited their first two games in the competition. The two will play-off in Walsh Park on Sunday next, March 30th at 2.30 pm to establish which of the teams will qualify for the quarter finals in second (to play Tipperary) and which in third place (to play Limerick) place. The CCCC confirmed that as the counties were affected by the unplayed matches in the Division, scoring difference could not be used to determine the final finishing positions.
