November 08, 2004
Mount Sion 4-13 Kilmaley 0-09 Mount Sion made it through to the Munster club-hurling final with a rather unexpected comfortable win over Clare champions Kilmaley at Walsh Park on Sunday 7th November. Kilmaley had high hopes of causing an upset and looked impressive in the early stages of the match. The scores were tied at 0-4 apiece after 20 minutes. The Waterford champions slowly came more and more into the game and points from Dan Kelly and Brian Greene were soon followed by a goal as Ken McGrath blasted home a 20 metre free. Mount Sion lead by six points at half time and their lead was stretched soon after as Eoin Kelly scored their second goal while Dan Kelly and Sean Ryan also raised the green flag to put the game beyond any doubt. The home side had excellent performers in Tony Browne, Ken McGrath and Eoin Kelly, while Alan Markham, Conor Clancy and Colin Lynch tried in vain for the losers.
