No doubts in Ryan's mind

April 16, 2014
Waterford minor hurling captain Shane Ryan revealed that he never doubted for one second that they wouldn't beat Clare.

A late flurry saw Waterford reel off 1-05 without reply in the last eight minutes to book their place in the Munster semi final.

Even die hard Waterford supporters would have thought there was no way back as they trailed by three points as the clock ticked into single digits, but the skipper told the Waterford News & Star that he always felt they would finish strongly.

"We knew that it was in us to come back. It was always going to be a hard battle coming up to Clare. You are basically playing against 16 men with the crowd that they have behind them and the way hurling is in Clare at the moment."
