"When you like the ball you can do anything with it."

Tipperary's hurlers have rediscovered their fondness for the sliotar according to Eamon O'Shea.

"Our target at the start of the year was to win promotion and find a few players. We've done that. We'd have liked to have another game but we can have no complaints about today."

Cork selector Seanie McGrath is happy with how the league went for the Rebel County.

"Were our lads a little complacent today? Probably were. My honest opinion is, I think Laois were better than us today."

Davy Fitzgerald wasn't impressed with his team's performance against Laois.

"We never fear Kilkenny but we respect them, the same as any other team. It'll be nip and tuck but the winner takes it all and we'd love to get to a league final."

Their 1-20 to 1-12 win over Limerick sets up a re-match against Kilkenny for Anthony Cunningham and Galway.

"If something might have happened there and God had looked down on us and we'd won the game it might have only been papering over the cracks."

Liam Dunne and Wexford know exactly where they stand after their 12-point loss to Kilkenny.

"We said at the start that the two objectives (of the league) were, if at all possible, to win it and as well to give as many players game-time as possible."

It's business as usual for Brian Cody and the Cats.

"It's vital because the last couple of years have been a bit disappointing really at underage. We've lost a few to football as well, so there's only one place to be and that's up there."

Anthony Daly outlined the importance of Dublin preserving their Division 1 status.

"We're very disappointed to go down because Waterford had been the bookies' favourites to go down for a number of years and have shown great resolve to maintain their status."

Waterford and Derek McGrath's luck ran out in Walsh Park.
