Eager reporters waiting for a quote from Waterford manager Derek McGrath following their crushing defeat to Kilkenny had to endure a 70-minute stay outside the dressingrooms.

McGrath kept his players that long in the dressingroom after the crushing defeat at Nowlan Park, which now leaves Waterford in a relegation play-off against Dublin.

The waiting reporters were somewhat perplexed that there was little or no sound coming from the dressingroom and when McGrath finally emerged, he remained cool and collected when speaking to the Waterford News & Star.

"Basically, we were just planning for the match next week and the implications of playing in a relegation play-off. It was basically just to plan for next week, what way we train for the week and the implications of where the match will be on," said McGrath. "We were just summing up what way we will approach it, etc."
