Round 2 of the JJ Kavanagh SFC took centre stage last weekend with the big talking point being the broken jaw being sustained by county star Gary Hurney in Ballinacourty's 2-10 to 1-3 victory over St. Saviour's.

Hurney was injured in the closing stages after earlier scoring 1-1 in what was a routine victory for the county champions. There were two other one-sided affairs which saw Nire ease to a 3-14 to 0-7 victory over Ardmore and Stradbally whip Dungarvan 3-17 to 0-8.

Elsewhere, Donie Breathnach scored 0-9 in An Rinn's 1-17 to 2-7 victory over Kilrossanty, Clashmore defeated Brickey Rangers 3-4 to 0-8, while Edmond Hogan's goal proved decisive in Rathgormack's 1-9 to 0-9 win over Gaultier.
