Hurlers see off Wexford

April 26, 2012
Waterford hurlers continued their preparations for the Munster championship with a worthwhile run out against Wexford last weekend.

Played in Walsh Park, the home side emerged victorious on a scoreline of 5-19 to 2-16 with a number of fine scores to enthral the crowd of 400 or so.

Waterford's Maurice Shanahan scored seven points, five of which came from play, while midfielder Martin O'Neill registered 1-4, all bar a point coming from frees, in what was an impressive performance.

Both sides experimented, but Michael Ryan will be happy with the display of his charges as they continue their build up to the provincial campaign.
