McGrath Cup: Grogan blows students away

January 16, 2012
Barry Grogan helped himself to 3-3 as Tipperary booked their place in the last four of the McGrath Cup with an emphatic victory over Waterford IT in Clonmel.

Tipperary 4-16
Waterford IT 0-6

Philip Austin also chipped in with 0-5 from play as John Evans' charges set up a meeting with UCC next weekend. Tipp had further reason for optimism when last year's All-Ireland winning minor Michael Quinlivan came off the bench to score 1-1, while former captain Robbie Costigan also made his return after missing all of last season.

The home side were out of sight by half-time when leading 2-8 to 0-3. A poor Waterford IT side could only manage two points from play with their other scores from Kevin O'Grady frees.
