Decies options limited

January 20, 2011
Waterford will have a limited squad for their defence of the Waterford Crystal Cup.

A combination of factors - including injury, flu and college commitments - will leave the holders depleted for the competition.

Declan Prendergast, Liam Lawlor and Mark O'Brien all have knee problems, while Aidan Kearney is still some way off match fitness. Maurice Shanahan (flu) and Michael Walsh (honeymoon) are also ruled out.

The De La Salle contingent won't feature and the likes of Ken McGrath, Tony Browne, Eoin Kelly and Eoin Murphy won't return to the county fold until next month.

Factor in the involvement of Shane Fives, Noel Connors, Wayne Hutchinson and Philip Mahony with their respective colleges and it's clear that Davy Fitzgerald will field an experimental XV for Sunday's meeting with Cork IT at Walsh Park (2pm).
