McVeigh: confidence and attitude is spot on

Sean McVeigh in action for London
London captain Sean McVeigh is adamant that London are a better side than last year.

As the exiles prepare to meet Fermanagh in a repeat of last year's All-Ireland qualifier when London shocked the Ulster side; the general consensus and the thought of the bookies is that the Erne County will gain some degree of revenge.

However, McVeigh feels that Fermanagh could be in for another shock as he is certain that London are much better this year, while the attitude from the players has also improved significantly.

"It's not just the strength of the panel, it's the attitude as well," McVeigh told the Irish Post. The boys who are there are involved because they want to play inter-county football and they want to play at the top level.

"They're not just coming over here to enjoy London. The attitude is completely different now; everybody is putting in the effort in training."

He added: "I think Peter Canavan said that if he was managing Fermanagh last year they would have won that game, but we're not going to let them come over here and think they're going to trounce all over us.

"We'll stand up man for man and hopefully do the same as we did to them last summer. We know we're capable of that. Fermanagh had a pretty good campaign in the McKenna Cup but we're confident in ourselves."
