NACB plan abandoned

November 16, 2011
The North American County Board has shelved plans to enter a team in the Connacht SFC.

New York has been contesting the Connacht championship for the past 13 seasons and there were suggestions that a North American team - representing Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburg and Philadelphia - would seek to join them.

However, Tim Flanagan of the NACB has confirmed that the Exiles won't be bringing a motion before their Convention this weekend. According to SunSport, he said:

"The NACB are not considering entering the Connacht championship, not are we even discussing a play-off with New York.

"This will not be discussed at Convention or discussed at all by the County Board."
