It was an eventful weekend on the hurling fields, here is our team of the week...

1. Anthony Nash (Cork)

The Rebel County custodian pulled off two decisive stops to deny Patrick 'Bonner' Maher and John 'Bubbles' O'Dwyer.

2. David McInerney (Clare)

The full-back's performance was singled out for special praise by joint-manager Gerry O'Connor in his post-match press conference.

3. Daithi Burke (Galway)

The commanding Burke proved to be the rock on which many a Kilkenny attack perished in Salthill.

4. Liam Ryan (Wexford)

After clearing the Offaly hurdle with ease, Ryan and the Model County now switch their attention to next weekend's clash with Galway.

5. Padraic Mannion (Galway)

Micheal Donoghue has every reason to be very satisfied with his team's defensive effort against the Cats.

6. Gearoid McInerney (Galway)

The All-Star centre-back was another player that stood out for the team in maroon and white.

7. Jamie Shanahan (Clare)

The Banner County half-back made the scoresheet with two points against the Deise.

8. Aidan Nolan (Wexford)

Davy Fitzgerald's side made light work of the Faithful County and Nolan impressed in their midfield engine room.

9. Tony Kelly (Clare)

The former 'Hurler of the Year' was in fine form against Waterford and finished with six points to his name.

10. Seamus Harnedy (Cork)

The Rebel County captain posed all sorts of problems for the Tipperary defence when raising five points in Semple Stadium.

11. Joe Canning (Galway)

The 'Hurler of the Year' contributed an eye-catching 1-12 to the Tribesmen's winning tally of 1-22.

12. Noel McGrath (Tipperary)

With their backs very much against the wall, McGrath rose to the occasion and contributed 1-3 to the Tipperary cause.

13. John Conlon (Clare)

The decision to place the Clonlara man at top of the right paid off for Clare as he registered 1-3 in Ennis.

14. Shane Kingston (Cork)

Called up to the starting 15, the Douglas clubman repaid John Meyler's faith in him with 1-5 against the Premier County.

15. John McGrath (Tipperary)

Like his older brother, McGrath came to his county's rescue in their hour of need and finished with 0-5 to his name.
