Fr. Murphy's, London reach final

Fr. Murphy's, London reigning senior camogie champions, have put the
indifferent form of earlier in the year behind them and reached the
2008 decider in empathic fashion.
on saturday they took on Tara's in Greenford, Tara's who had beaten
them by nine points in the group stages, were tipped as favourites to
make the final.
The Murphy's played against the wind in the first half and Ciara O
Donnell opened the scoring with a goal for them after a few minutes,
half time was reached with the score 2-04 to 2-02 in Tara's favour, in
the second half the girls in purple and gold played brilliant hurling
Laureena Murphy and Ciara O Donnell terrorised the Tara's defence, with
Grainne Hunter and Ruth Foley mastering the midfield sector, Their half
back line of Zoe Power, Bronagh McLernon and Bernadette Ryan were in
sparkling form and behind them team captain Eimear O Higgins and
goalkeeper Mel Hogan, dealt confidently with anything that came there
way.
Laureena Murphy finished with a score 0f 3-09, whilst Ciara O Donnell
recorded 1-04, newly converted forward Sinead Kirk, after several runs
at the Tara defence handpassed a great goal, the first she has recorded
in the senior championship. the final score was Fr Murphy's 5-14 Tara
2-05.
The reigning champions must wait to see who will oppose them in the
final on July 19th, Bros Pearse and Croydon drew 2-06 apiece in a
bruising encounter on saturday, the replay is scheduled to take place
on Wedensday evening in Greenford.
