Exiles managerless for Murphy Cup

July 03, 2008
London will be without a manager for next weekend's Tommy Murphy Cup preliminary round clash with Kilkenny. Westmeath native Noel Dunning stepped down after four years at the helm in the wake of the Exiles' Connacht SFC defeat to Sligo in May, and it would now appear that a successor won't be appointed until the start of next season. "There's not going to be a manager in place," confirmed London county board chairman Tommy Harrell. "We're going to have a think about what we're going to do but there might not even be a caretaker in place." London lost to Kilkenny in the National League earlier this year, and Harrell is hoping to exact revenge and set up a home match against Sligo. "From London's point of view, it's a good draw and we'd be hopeful of victory. It's a chance to get a bit of revenge on Kilkenny."
