Feile Peile set for Birmingham

The biggest GAA underage tournament in Britain is set to take place in Birmingham on April 8-10 with over 300 children expected to participate. Teams from all over Ireland and Britain will take part in the inaugural tournament that is designed to promote the game in Britain. The Coaching and Games Committee of the GAA Provincial Council of Britain will oversee the two days of competition. An official opening ceremony will be hosted by Birmingham's first Irish born Lord Mayor, Mike Nagle. Over the course of the weekend, 29 teams will take part in an under-13, 9-a-side boys and girls championship and shield competitions, while a skills competition will also be held. Gaelic football is one of the fastest growing sports in Britain at the moment and this tournament is expected to enhance its reputation.
