McMenamin hails Feile success

Warwickshire manager Noel McMenamin hailed their success at the Feile Peil na nOg last weekend.

The exiles under-14 captured the All-Ireland Division 8 Feile football title in Tinryland, Carlow having impressed throughout the campaign.

"Football wise we had a panel of 20 over in Ireland, and played six games including the final, winning each of them," McMenamin told the Irish Post.

"The lads have done absolutely fantastic and have been great representatives of their clubs - Sean McDermotts, John Mitchels, St Brendan's and Roger Casements. It was great football and a great weekend. The lads are absolutely ecstatic now."


Warwickshire defeated Startford-Grangecon, Drumlane and Palatine in the group stages before seeing off Roscommon outfit St Dominic's in the semi final.

The final was a closely fought contest, but Warwickshire held on to see off the challenge of Cavan's Drumlane to lift the title on a scoreline of 1-07 to 1-03.
