On 30th August 2014, Fullen Gaels Camogie team met Croydon Camogie on the pitch in Pairc na hEireann, Birmingham for the second round of the Senior Championship. Croydon started the game with a goal after three minutes when Michaela Murtagh sent in a ball to Danielle O'Sullivan who put the ball in the back of the net. Fullen Gales opened their scoring with a point from a free on seven minutes. They followed this up with a goal after a great delivery from their centre back and found the back of the net from the corner forward. Croydon responded with a goal from play from Caoilinn Ni Neill. Fullen Gaels struck next with a goal from their centre forward. Croydon responded with a point from Maeve McEnery. Fullen Gaels player, Helen O'Mahony, suffered an ankle injury in the first half, leaving the team with 14 players on the pitch. Despite Fullen Gaels playing down a player, the first half was a close matchup, with a score of 2-0 to 2-1 at the half with Fullen Gaels goals from Aine Brislane and Clare Commane.
Croydon quickly found their feet in the second half, with two points from Ni Neill putting Croydon in the lead. Solid defending and a good clearance from Una McGouran sent the ball into the full forward line where Elaine Egan pounced for a goal. This was followed up by a point from Angela Kerr who collected a delivery from McGouran from a free. Fullen Gaels did have some scoring chances in the second half but strong Croydon defending put them under pressure and they were unlucky to see some shots go wide. Croydon finished the game with a goal from a free from Ni Neill, a point from McEnery and another goal from O'Sullivan. Final score was Croydon 5-5, Fullen Gaels 2-0.
All players displayed a huge amount of effort and teamwork and despite the score it was a great game to play and watch.
