Calling All Cycling Gaels

March 19, 2010
A number of Tir Chonaill Gaels ex-players (London) have organised a charity Cycle ride with the help of Marie Curie Cancer Care. As you know this wonderful organisation does an unbelievable amount of work with people suffering from all forms of cancer. Already 18 Gaels from right across Ireland, England and Scotland from different clubs have signed up for this challenge.

Its called The Malin Head (Donegal) to Mizen Head (Cork) Charity Cycle Challenge. From the most northern point in Ireland to the most southern point. 666k or 435 miles over seven days. Starting on Saturday 11th September 2010 and finishing in Cork on Friday 17th September. Then we are off to the All-Ireland football final on the Sunday 19th September, to finish off a life changing and memorable experience.

What better way to see Ireland, than that from the seat of a bike. It will be a tough challenge but it will be a great week for one to experience. The costs are simple, Marie Curie charge a £175 registration fee which is non-refundable and you are expected to raise £1,450. However, all costs for the seven days include all seven nights accommodation, all food including breakfast, lunch and dinner, all bike support team including doctor are taken from the £1,450. Marie Curie cover all the costs from this £1,450 that is raised by you, and the remainder of the money goes into there charity. Obviously, the more you raise the more they make.
