St Brendan's GAA Manchester Club Notes
March 11, 2010
The weekend's arranged Pennine league fixture against St. Lawrence's was cancelled at the last minute as St. Lawrence's were unable to field.
The management team took advantage of the sunshine by holding an intra-club match and the good squad of players who turned out allowed for 15-a-side game, giving the players their first taste of ball-work for the season. The management team were satisfied with the exercize, and were happy with the efforts of a couple of close-season signings. Also deserving a mention were the performances of Conrad Tierney & Paddy Mc Garvey who both made their comebacks following injuries they picked up last year. One of the highlights of the game was the titanic battle for supremacy as Eiphy "mighty-mouse" Campbell marked full-forward Cathal Brennan. Brennan ended up with a few impressive scores but was visibly glad, on a few occasions, to escape the wrath of the tiger-ish full-back. Displaying admirable competitive spirit, the duo had to be pulled apart a number of times.
The Seniors next match is against John Mitchell's in Liverpool at 13:00 on 28th March. Leading up to the game, training will continue on Tuesday 16th March at Nell Lane at 8:15pm and there will be a ball-work session at Hough End on Saturday 20th at 12:00.
