Oisin CLG Manchester Club Notes

March 10, 2010
Oisin CLG continue their training tonight, Wednesday March 10th at Old Bedians, Didsbury at 7pm- under floodlights.

On Sunday March7th Oisin faced John Mitchells of Liverpool in the Pennine League first round. Fielding only 3 of the senior 12 panel it gave others in the squad a chance to impress the new management team. And many of them took the opportunity, in a high quality first half there were chances at both ends with the full forward lines of both teams revelling in the extra space afforded by the 13 a side requested by John Mitchells. The teams were level at half time and heading into the final quarter of the game only a point separated the teams. A misplaced pass inside the John Mitchells 21 spurned a great goal scoring opportunity, and as the Oisinís players visibly tired the men from Liverpool tagged on a run of points in the closing minutes of the game to put some daylight between the teams.

Best players on show were Traynor for Mitchells, who tormented the full back line all day and Coss for Oisin who gave his markers an equally torrid afternoon, who often resorted to means more foul than fair.

Despite the lack of fitness evident at the end, with great turnouts at training and with the return of many quality players and also the addition of some new players, the management are looking forward with great confidence to the season ahead.
