Foundation Referee Course

The course will cover the rules for both football and hurling, and will be a certified Foundation Referee Course. The tutors are Pat Moore(Waterford) and John Motherway (Cork), who are Master Tutors. They have run a number of courses in the UK to date which have been well received by the participants who regarded them highly. Both are excellent and we are fortunate to have tutors of this calibre running the course for us in London.
Everybody will appreciate that there is a significant shortage of referees in London, at both Senior and underage level, and this course represents an opportunity to alleviate this and to improve standards.
The board have requested that each club nominate at least one person to attend with a view to joining the referee panel. Nominations from clubs for underage level are particularly welcome as this is where our future lies.
All existing referees are expected to attend to refresh their knowledge of the rules and improve their game management techniques and skills.
All other members involved in team management, playing or with an interest in refereeing are also invited to attend.
