Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes

14 December 2009

Poker night
Last Saturday the club hosted its first ever Poker classic at the club house with eighty players taking part. The night was a huge success with the Ladbrokes poker team from Ireland running a very professional event.
Many thanks to Brian Corry, Paddy Callaghan and Tom Mohan in organising the event and the winner of the tournament Denis "Stone face" Costello who donated half of his winnings back to the club.

Condolences
The club would like to pass on its condolences to members Stephen McLoughlin and Jim McKeown on the recent bereavement of relative Catherine McKeown at her home in Sligo during the week.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families at this difficult time, may she rest in peace.

Best Wishes
The club are pleased to see senior players Fergus McMahon and Keith Morrow making great strides in their recoveries after recent injuries. We wish them well and hope to see them back playing soon.

All Ireland club quarter final
The club have just found out recently that former player and club member Frank Glynn is a native of our All-Ireland quarter final opponents Kilmurry-Ibrickane.
Frank was seen recently in the bushes at Greenford with a camcorder filming our training sessions, spying at our challenge games and sending information back to his home club.
Frank is now reported to be on the run, last spotted fleeing on his bike in South America as he does another charity cycle.
