Tyrone senior team-manager Mickey Harte was a happy man on Saturday, 15th of March in Healy Park, Omagh. He had witnessed his side defeat a very determined Laois side in the NFL inspired by a tremendous performance of attacking wing-half play by his nephew, Davy Harte who was the 'man of the match'. And to capt it all, the long-awaited return of Brian McGuigan to the county scene capped a great night for Tyrone football and for the manager himself. Speaking after the game, Harte was fulsome in his praise of the great Tyrone team effort and the inspirational play of Day Harte. "We needed that win badly to-night, and the players came up with the goods.'' Harte was not surprised at the way former All-Star Brian McGuigan slotted back into his role as playmaker for the side, and was involved in the winning Tyrone point in the closing minutes of the game. "That's what McGuigan is all about. He is a tremendous play-maker and control player with excellent vision. He makes things happen, and doesn't panic when in possession. "He still has all these abilities despite being out of action for two seasons because of injury. We are not looking forward to have him fit and ready for the remainder of the league and the championship which has given us all a great boost,'' added Harte. "We had to battle hard for the points,'' added Harte Reviewing the game with Laois on Saturday evening last, 15th of March at Healy park, Omagh, Mickey Harte said that his players knew they would have to dig deep to overcome a talented Laois side, who like themselves had only taken one point from their opening three games played. They travelled to Omagh desperate for a result. "We knew coming into the game that neither side had played particularly badly, although we had only a point each to show for our efforts. "It was always going to be a battle, and thankfully we got the breaks and the badly needed win in the end.'' "Hopefully, we have turned the corner after this victory.
