Canavan wins first Tyrone All-Star

December 20, 2006
Tyrone's 2003 All-Ireland winning captain Peter Canavan has finally won an All-Star award in his native county. The legendary Red Hand attacker has been named at full forward on the Tyrone All-Star team after playing a leading role in Errigal Ciaran's senior football championship triumph this year. An All-Star winner at national level on no fewer than six occasions, Canavan has had to wait until now to make the cut on the local scene. Six county players have been included on the 2006 team, which was selected by Tyrone GAA fans on the basis of club performances. Errigal Ciaran are also represented on the team by John Devine, Cormac McGinley, Paul Quinn and Davy Harte.
