Cork 0-17
Tyrone 2-10

Cork scored seven of the last eight points to edge out Tyrone at Healy Park and go two points clear at the summit of Division 1.

The Rebels' star-studded bench made all the difference as they made it four wins from five. Tyrone, who had led by 2-7 to 0-8 at the break thanks to goals from Conor McAliskey and Peter Harte, remain on five points after conceding seven unanswered points before Darren McCurry's late free left the minimum in it.

Substitutes Donncha O'Connor, Paul Kerrigan, Donal Og Hodnett and Daniel Goulding were central figures in the Cork comeback which leaves them on the cusp of a semi-final place.

The hosts made a dream start when Connor McAliskey collected a long ball from Peter Harte and crashed the ball past Cork 'keeper Michael Martin for a third-minute goal. Darren McCurry added a point three minutes later before the Rebels got themselves back into with scores from Colm O'Neill (two), Colm O'Driscoll and Mark Collins.

But they were rocked for a second time when Padraig McNulty was taken down for a penalty and Peter Harte made no mistake to extend the Red Hands' lead to four points, 2-2 to 0-4, with 18 minutes played.

O'Neill and McAliskey traded points, as did O'Neill and McCurry, before Brian Hurley got his first. But two more from McCurry and McAliskey left Mickey Harte's men five in front at the break.

O'Neill and McCurry twice exchanged scores on the restart before Donncha O'Connor marked his arrival with a fine score. Thereafter, it was all Cork as their substitutes made their presence felt. A run of scores from O'Connor, Conor Dorman, O'Neill, Fintan Goold and Donal Og Hodnett brought them level before Hurley and O'Neill put them two clear.

McCurry got one back for the home side, but it was a case of too little, too late as the Rebels prevailed by a point.
