Mickey Harte has described Conor Clarke's appearance in the Ulster club final as "a high-risk intervention".

Clarke came off the bench in the closing stages as his club locked horns with Slaughtneil of Derry in the provincial decider at the Athletic Grounds on November 30th - just four months after suffering a cruciate ligament injury:

"I think Conor's case was a high-risk intervention on his part," the Tyrone manager states in The Irish News. "I don't think he should have been playing on medical advice.

"He's doing very well to be as far on as he is and, in terms of rehabilitation, he deserves full marks.

"It was a risky thing to do from a medical perspective but obviously it was his decision to do that. He needs to take his time. That is not a sign that he will be ready for Tyrone in a month or anything.

"It will be March time and probably the latter end of March before he will be thinking about playing intercounty football again.

"Thankfully nothing happened in those few minutes he was on."
