Carrickmore corner back Mickey Donaghy has spoken of his desire to atone for last year's Tyrone SFC final defeat to Clonoe.

Speaking to the Tyrone Courier ahead of Sunday's O'Neill Cup decider against Omagh St. Enda's at Healy Park, Donaghy said: "It will always haunt me, thinking about it. We felt we could have done it, but this year we showed a bit of character, we're back again.

"Personally, I think we're stronger, and we still have boys coming back from injury, and it's all looking good at the minute. And last year is in the past now."

Carmen are Tyrone's most successful club with 15 O'Neill Cups, but they haven't won the blue riband prize since 2005.

"You go up there into the tearooms and you see the pictures all around the walls, of these great teams," Donaghy continues.

"But I suppose all we can do really is look at ourselves, and we want to get ourselves up on that wall as well. That's all we can do, work hard, and hopefully it will fall into place for us."
