The Tyrone ladies GFA will once again roll out the red (and white) carpet at O'Hagans Eskra this coming Bank Holiday weekend. The annual Boogie in the Barn, the ladies senior fooballers annual fundraiser, is set to be the social event of the Spring and this years event promises to be one of the best.

Orgainsers have been delighted with he response so far with tickets selling fast: "Its been great so far, the players from the senior squad really commit to this every year and its now become the mainstay of the early part of every season, clubs buy into it too and that's important as its their senior intercounty squad and its their players," enthused county chairman Martin Conway.

The need for fundraising has never been so important the chairman admitted: "We have to be self sufficient, the big sponsors are not out there anymore and its unfair to continue to hit the same folks all the time, this event is a vital source of income every year and it continues to grow and grow, that is very pleasing to everyone who works so hard to make it a success, oh and its always great craic too."

Justin McGurk and the Boogie men will rock O'Hagans on Sunday evening and all the usual features of the annual event will also be available, with BBQ and the ever popular bucking bronco. Tickets for the event are still available from county players and committee and is advisable to purchase tickets as a huge crowd is expected.
The county senior squad are continuing the build up to the Ulster senior football championship, manager Gerry Moane is happy with the progress and is hopeful that several players who missed the national league will be available again.

"Yes there's a lot of club action at the moment and the championship at club level is coming too but we have over a month until Monaghan and I am delighted that some key players who will be featuring after injury and surgery are due to return to training next week, they will be off the pace but they will soon be back in action, its low key but we will be stepping things up from next week," confirmed Moane

The minor football championships began on Monday night with semi-finals now down for decision as the adult league campaign continues with all the big guns progressing well as the championship quarter finals approach. The focus though this weekend is fun and fundraising. Tweet
