Tyrone's Tommy McGuigan
Tommy McGuigan is facing a race against time to be fit for Tyrone's Ulster SFC opener against Armagh in June after suffering a setback in his recovery from a knee injury.
McGuigan, who underwent surgery on the knee last year and had recently returned to county training, suffered a relapse in a club game last weekend and has been told the rest up for the next few weeks.
"Tommy is looking at period of extended rest. We're talking about a number of weeks to see how it is," Tyrone assistant manager Tony Donnelly said in the Irish News.
"His knee gave him trouble in the league game. Even since the operation he still has some soreness and swelling in it. He rested it for a period of a few weeks and came back to training last week, and then went ahead with the club game."
Full back Justin McMahon has joined rising star Kyle Coney (groin injury) on the treatment table after being forced off with a suspected hamstring injury in Omagh's league game last Sunday, and is rated as doubtful for the Allianz Football League Division 2 final against Kildare on Sunday week.
U21 captain Ronan O'Neill, meanwhile, will undergo surgery on his cruciate next Tuesday.
