Gormley to have ankle operation

Tyrone's Conor Gormley
Conor Gormley is expected to be out of action for at least month due to ankle surgery.
The Carrickmore defender will have the procedure done at the Ulster Independent Clinic in Belfast on Friday to try and rectify an ankle problem that has been troubling him from last season. Tyrone are already without the Cavanagh brothers, Sean and Colm, for Saturday's NFL opener against Kildare at Croke Park, with the latter having suffered broken ribs in last weekend's McKenna Cup final victory over Derry.
Owen Mulligan is now the only outfield player who started the historic 2003 All-Ireland final win over Armagh available for selection this weekend.
