An Mhaigh Tir na nÓg
Floodlit Ceremony
The official opening of our impressive new floodlit facilities at Páirc Th'r na nÓg took place last Friday evening. Former President of the GAA, Paddy McFlynn, was among the distinguished guests at this celebratory event. Accompanied by his good friend and Moy stalwart Mick Millar, 92-year-old Paddy said he was delighted to be present at such an historic occasion.
Also in attendance were a large number of club members, officials, players, family members and friends of An Mhaigh G.A.C. who were encouraged by Chairman Peter McKearney to take part in the countdown to the official switching on of the lights at 7.00pm. A guard of honour, which also consisted of our senior men and ladies footballers, was then formed from the clubrooms as scores of young underage boys and girls made their way out onto the fully floodlit training pitch.
There followed a series of mini exhibition games involving our youth players, with county stars Philip Jordan and Ryan Mellon among those acting as referees. Hot food, tea and refreshments were served in an open marquee while Sean Kelly supplied background music for an event that was blessed with good weather. Information on Suicide Awareness and Alcohol and Drugs Prevention was also available on the night.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this an evening to remember and came along to show their appreciation for one of the most significant developments in our club's history. Credit also must go to those individuals on our club's Development Committee who worked hard to acquire these new floodlights.
Ag Éisteacht Programme
Representatives of An Mhaigh G.A.C. were privileged to welcome Paraic Duffy, Árd Stiúrthóir CLG, and Kieran Leddy from Croke Park to our clubrooms on Monday night past (15 March) as part of the G.A.A.'s Ag Éisteacht programme.
The purpose of this session was to provide a representative cross section of our club with access to the senior officers of the Association to share opinions, hopes and aspirations on any area of the G.A.A. It proved a very worthwhile event as both of the high-ranking Croke Park officials were kept informed of the priorities and needs of the club at local level while also discussing wider topics concerning G.A.A. matters.
Afterwards, Árd Stiúrthóir Paraic Duffy presented our club Chairman Peter McKearney with a special commemorative plate to mark their visit. We thank both Paraic and Kieran for honouring us with their presence and also thank those who contributed to a very interesting and enjoyable session.
A special word of thanks to Kay Duffy and those who helped prepare the tea and refreshments on the night.

The club's Annual Table Quiz will be held in P.B.'s Bar, Moy on Friday 26th March at 8.00pm. This event is being organised by the ladies players and management teams who invite all club members and friends to come along and enjoy what should be a great night's craic. More details next week.

The minors travelled to Augher on Sunday for the Augher 7 s tournament drawn in group A, where they beat Scotstown, Dromore and Killeavy and were beaten by Burne. We qualified to reach the semi finals and played local neighbours the Fianna, as usual it was a very close contest with both teams scoring some fine points and at the end of normal time the game was a draw with 5 mins extra time to be played Clonoe dug deep and with some brilliant team work came out winners by 4 points. We played hosts Augher in the final and with the local referee giving the host team a lot of dubious decisions Clonoe ended up losing by two points but can keep their heads held high as without any doubt where the best team on the day. The Minor management would like to thank all the lads who took part on the day.

Senior football
The seniors had two challenge games at the weekend. First up they met Sarsfields of Armagh on Friday night under our magnificent new lights and the lads played some scintillating football at times to run out comfortable winners. On Sunday they travelled to Donegal champions St Eunans Letterkenny and despite a narrow defeat there were plent of good signs. The reserves also had a game on Friday night against Sarsfields. Highlight of this game for most people was when a piece of brilliance from Foster put Kelly through only for him to place an embarrassing backpass straight to the keeper. A goujon powered Foster was man of the match contributing three fine points. Our own Sean Heagney made a bit of history by being the first man to take charge of a game under the lights on the new pitch in the reserve game.
Youth Football
Wish Darren Loughran a speedy recovery after receiving an injury in a minor challenge game on Friday night from the managers and players.

Derrylaughan Kevin Barry's
Senior and Reserve Football training continues this week on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.20pm sharp. All players are requested to bring Membership money to training and to ring management if unable to attend. The semi-final match of the Mid Ulster League v Craigban was an entertaining game with the Barry's leading at half time on a score-line of 1-03 to 0-4. Marty Mcstravog, Gerard Mc Aliskey, Fergal Mc Aliskey and Shea Coney contributed to the points tally with Ciaran Gervin striking for the goal. Injuries led to Gareth Coary receiving a broken nose in a dangerously high tackle and James Quinn sustaining an ankle injury just before the small whistle. Substitutes Damien Cush, Philly Mc Court and Colm O'Hagan stepped up to the mark and played well when asked and despite a strong start to the half for the Home team Derrylaughan responded to go five points up with fifteen minutes to go. Some great scores by the Craigban side eventually closed the gap and a late goal aided by some frustrating decisions and lack of same by the referee left the final deserving victors Craigban on a score-line of 1-13 to 1-10. Please note the new Ice Rota for this week: Petsey Kennedy and Sean Cushnahan.
