Tyrone's Conor Gormley blocks the path of goalscorer Raymond Wilkinson of Derry during the NFL Division 1 tie at Celtic Park
Derry, Laois and Meath all claimed home wins as the Allianz NFL kicked off for 2010.

Derry were in command for the entire tie at Celtic Park against Tyrone as they held a 0-9 to 0-6 half time advantage, with James Kielt in great scoring form.

Raymond Wilkinson's goal put Derry firmly in control and Colm Cavanagh's late major put a better look on the scoreboard for Mickey Harte's men, who lost out by 1-12 to 1-18.

Meath scored goals early in both halves against Armagh, through Stephen Bray and Jamie Queeney, to take a six point advantage.

However, they then went through a scoring drought as Armagh reeled them in with Steven McDonnell hitting what looked like a draw earning equaliser late on. David Bray's free ensured that the spoils went to the home side on a 2-8 to 0-13 scoreline.

The match in Portlaoise between the home side and Tipperary was also a game of two halves as Laois led by 1-9 to 0-2 at the break thanks to MJ Tierney's goal.

Tipperary were a different side in the second period and a Philip Austin goal gave them the momentum to level the game with ten minutes remaining.

Laois dug deep and late scores from Brendan Quigley and Donal Miller gave them a 1-13 to 1-11 win.
