The draw for the 2010 Dr McKenna Cup was made at the Armagh City Hotel last night. The draw coincided with the unveiling of a new sponsor for the popular pre-season Ulster football competition. Omagh-based company Barrett Sports Lighting take over the sponsorship from Gaelic Life magazine, whose three-year deal expired earlier this year. New Armagh manager Paddy O'Rourke, who attended the draw, will face Fermanagh in his first competitive game in charge of the Orchard County on January 10. Ulster's other management newcomer, James McCartan, makes his bow with Down in a clash with Derry on the same day. Holders Donegal begin the defence of their title with a home game against St Mary's College. Next year's competition will be played on a round robin basis, leading into knock-out phase at the semi-final stage, with the final due to be played on Saturday, January 30.
