Strong finish gives Ardboe fifth win
June 11, 2009
Donaghmore 0-7
Ardboe 0-11
Donaghmore's luckless run in the ACL Division One continued last Sunday when they let a five-point half-time lead slip against Ardboe, condemning them to their fourth defeat of the campaign.
The St Patrick's men took the game to the joint league-leaders here, with points from Mark Faloon, Niall McKenna and Dan Toner all flying over in the opening stages to pave the way for a 0-7 to 0-2 lead at the interval, as Ardboe's only two scores came via Anthony Devlin and Frank McGuigan.
In the second-half the Rossas came out a transformed side, with the introduction of Brian McGuigan as a substitute significant. They hit 0-9 and conceded nothings as Frank, Tommy, Brian and Shea McGuigan proceeded to tear the Donaghmore defence to shreds along with the accurate Devlin, which the St Patrick's outfit had no answer to.
