Sadly we learned of the death of Terry Moloney recently. His intercounty record is impressive, Munster and All-Ireland minor hurling medals in 1957, Munster senior hurling medals in 1958 and 1960, All-Ireland senior hurling medal in 1958 (as sub-goalie to John O'Grady), National League medals in 1959 and 1960, an Oireachtas medal in the latter year and St Brendan Cup medals in 1959 and 1960. Versatile in football as well as hurling he made his first appearance for Arravale Rovers in losing the 1955 county minor football final, which wasn't played until April 1956. In the same year he played Dean Ryan with Abbey CBS. In 1957 as a student at St.Flannan's he won a Harty Cup medal and was beaten in the revived Colleges All-Ireland final. The following year he won a second Harty medal and got his All-Ireland Colleges medal when St Flannan's made amends for the previous year. He played with Eire Og, Nenagh for three years in the sixties, winning a North senior divisional medal in 1964 and was back to help Arravale to their first West senior championship in 1966. John O'Grady had this to say about him in West Tipperary GAA. "Terry belonged to the class of shot-stopping, right-hand under keepers rather than to the orthodox category as seen with his successors. A good catcher of the ball he was nimble and swift in moving to safety. When in form and getting plenty of activity he was hard to beat.
