Tipperary star Michael Quinlivan says he has a lot of respect for what Galway have achieved so far this year.

Quinlivan and his Tipp team mates will look to end the Tribesmen's season on Sunday when the two counties collide in the All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals at Croke Park, where he'll be on opposite sides against pal Shane Walsh, who is again expected to line-out in the Connacht champions' full-forward line.

"I know Shane Walsh pretty well," Quinlivan told the Irish Independent during the week. "He was snapping me (sending a snapchat) on the way to a wedding this morning.

"I'm sure there won't be much talk during the week now. I'd have a lot of respect for a lot of them Galway boys.

"They were written off big time at the start of the year like us, especially for the Mayo game. I thought they were super that day and while they were involved in a bad Connacht final they bounced back with a fantastic victory last weekend.

"No doubt we will have our work cut out. We will look forward to the challenge."
