Padraic Maher is braced for a stern test against Waterford in the Munster SHC final.

Holders Tipp will meet Derek McGrath's charges in the decider for a second successive year at the Gaelic Grounds on July 10th and Maher has the height of respect for the challengers:

"They are going to bring massive workrate. They are going to be hurt after us beating them last year," the influential wing back told The Irish Daily Mirror.

"We will gather ourselves again and Mick [Ryan, manager] will have us fine-tuned and it will be all systems go for Waterford. Last year, I was the spare man but if someone else steps into that role, all well and good, we have plenty of men capable of doing it.

"Waterford are up there with the best. We know from last year that it is going to take a lot of working out in training over the next three weeks.

"We are going to give it everything. There is a great bunch of lads in there who showed we had good character, which had been questioned over the last few years, but we are building on it because we know when things come to the crunch we need to knuckle down."
