Michael Quinlivan believes his former Tipperary team-mate Colin O'Riordan will be a big hit in the AFL.

O'Riordan recently signed a two-year international rookie contract with the Sydney Swans and Quinlivan - who went for AFL trials himself - feels he has all the attributes to be a success Down Under.

"If you got an opportunity to go over and play professionally in any sport, I think it's something that you have to consider," 2011 All-Ireland minor winning forward Quinlivan told the Irish Daily Star.

"Colin could set himself up for life over there. Peronsally, I think he'll make a name for himself over there. I know the mentality he'll bring to the Sydney Swans.

"Obviously, we'll miss him with Tipp and not only will you miss him on the field, but off the field as well. He's a fantastic ambassador for Tipp and people speak highly of him regardless of where he goes."

Quinlivan will be a key figure for Clonmel Commercials in their quest to become the first Tipperary club to win a Munster SFC title against the mighty Nemo Rangers on Sunday.

"We never have a problem playing against a bigger team, or what people consider a bigger team," he insisted.

"I don't think the mental issue will come into it a whole pile because a lot of us have been playing in teams against Cork teams that we have beat, so it's no issue in that sense."
