Micko backs Munster SFC overhaul

Mick O'Dwyer is in favour of a revamp of the Munster senior football championship.
Calls to restructure the provincial competition are gathering momentum after the four weaker counties - Waterford, Tipperary, Limerick and Clare - all suffered hammerings at the hands of the big two - this year.
The most likely development is the genesis of an initial round-robin series of games involving the four weaker counties, with Banner County manager and Kerry legend O'Dwyer backing this proposal:
"If they had a number of games under their belt then they would be better prepared for games against Kerry and Cork," he is quoted in today's Irish Independent.
"I'm strongly in favour of retaining provincial championships but I'd be in favour of each of the four teams outside Cork and Kerry playing each other first with the top two going through."
